Health Checkup in China Before Flying Back to the UK
A departure-focused checklist for UK visitors arranging the appointment, examination morning and report handover before flying home.
Work backwards from your flight
Start with the date you leave China, then allow time for travel to the clinic, preparation, registration, examinations and report review. A checkup can fit a short trip, but the institution must confirm the appointment and report process.
Keep the examination morning efficient
- Use the clinic’s written fasting and preparation instructions.
- Arrive with your confirmation and identification document.
- Keep the agreed examination list available.
- Tell the coordinator your departure deadline.
- Ask whether any test requires an additional slot.
What the Shenzhen case demonstrates
A traveller arranged Western screening and a TCM constitution assessment before continuing to Guangzhou. The agreed plan moved the checkup earlier, with a separate TCM consultation scheduled later that morning. This records the intended sequence, not a measured finishing time; optional treatments needed separate clinical review and time.
Confirm the handover route
Ask whether the original report, English version, laboratory values and imaging files will be sent by email, secure upload or collection. An English report can help a UK GP or specialist review the record, but it does not replace clinical interpretation.
Read the report handover guide, compare packages and request a plan before booking flights.
