Women's Checkup Blood Tests: Read the Panel, Not the Indicator Count

Compare CBC, HbA1c and thyroid-test labels in three Guangzhou women's plans, including where a panel's components are and are not specified.

A long laboratory list can still leave an important booking question unanswered. Which tests are individually named? Which are grouped into a panel? And which panel components are actually disclosed? Those questions are more useful than treating the largest indicator count as the best package.

A small price difference can conceal a different laboratory mix

These three female-eligibility plans are all at Clifford Hospital in Guangzhou: 569F is $310.00, 0494 is $325.00, and 1C95 is $328.00. Each lists a complete blood count and fasting blood glucose. HbA1c appears in the first two, while the explicit thyroid-function panel appears in 0494. These are alternative combinations, not automatic upgrades.

Selected catalogue entries, checked September 28, 2026. “Not listed” means absent from this plan’s published list. Separate labels retain their own scope; this table does not establish medical equivalence or suitability.

The 569F and 0494 lists also name a nine-component liver panel, whereas 1C95 names a four-component panel. A component count establishes neither the clinical value for you nor every unnamed component. In particular, an abbreviated list ending in an ellipsis should not be expanded into a supposedly complete laboratory specification.

Three distinctions worth checking

A complete blood count measures several features of blood cells; “complete” belongs to the test's name, not to an unlimited menu of blood examinations. Compare any requested additional test separately.

HbA1c reflects average blood glucose over roughly two to three months. A fasting glucose entry and an HbA1c entry therefore should not be silently merged into one label. Which measurements are appropriate is a clinical decision.

Thyroid assessment can involve blood tests and imaging. The label “Thyroid ultrasound with images” in 569F does not establish that TSH, FT4 and FT3 are included. In 0494, those components are explicitly printed in the separate thyroid-function entry.

Turn an unclear panel into a precise confirmation

Swipe the table sideways to read every column.

What you seeWhat to request
A named single testConfirmation that it remains on the final examination list.
A panel with named componentsThe same component list on the agreed scope.
A panel with a count onlyThe laboratory's component names before deciding.
A missing testClinical review and a separate quote if appropriate.

Do not assume that every extra marker is useful for routine screening, or interpret an abnormal result from a shopping table. Bring the specific request from your clinician if you have one. That is clearer than asking for “all hormone tests” or “all cancer blood tests,” neither of which defines a finite package.

If you already have a laboratory request from your own clinician, keep its wording intact when asking for a match. Request an item-by-item reply showing what is included, what needs clarification and what would require a separate order. Similar abbreviations or a shared organ name should not be accepted as confirmation. Also ask how any result still pending at the main report handover will be identified and delivered, so an incomplete report is not mistaken for a final set.

Prepare for the actual combination

Request preparation instructions for the whole agreed appointment. A blood test with no special preparation of its own may be combined with other examinations that have requirements. Do not change medicines based on this comparison; obtain individual instructions from the clinical team.

Open 0494's full list and the wider Guangzhou comparison to check imaging and cervical testing too. Send a laboratory-scope enquiry with the package code and exact test names you want clarified, so the reply can distinguish included items, unspecified panels and optional additions.
